Elmtree Preschool wants to ensure all children are safe, secure, cared for and valued.
We will provide the environment consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. Safeguarding is our highest priority, we are fully committed to promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of every child in our care. We follow the statutory guidance set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and work in partnership with parents, carers, and outside agencies to keep children safe from harm.
Our team attend regular Safeguarding and Child Protection training. Our policies and procedures reflect our commitment to Safeguarding, and we understand our role and responsibility in ensuring the best interest of the child is considered at all times.
Digital copies of our policies and procedures are made available to parents and carers, and the Elmtree team.
We inform our practice by following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), alongside the following government’s statutory guidance;
‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’, ‘Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales’ and ‘Keeping children safe in education 2022’.
We take a child centred and coordinated approach and follow the view that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.
We have clear procedures in place for identifying and responding to concerns, and all staff receive regular safeguarding and child protection training.
If you have a safeguarding concern speak to Becky either in person at Elmtree Preschool, or via email, or phone;

KEEPING BRISTOL SAFE PARTNERSHIP (KBSP)
The Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership is responsible for; keeping children safe, and making sure they are happy and healthy.
The Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 are the rules the government have set to ensure people who are working with children know what they must do to keep them as safe as possible.
'Professionals need to talk to each other and work together when they are worried about a child... This is because people used to have lots of different information that they didn’t share, but that information was like a puzzle and all the pieces are needed to understand what is going on in a child’s life'.
